Stanislav Kolář
Executive Director
Stan received his BSc. in economics from Georgetown University in 1988
Stan has over 20 years of experience in global renewable energy business development and policy advisory for many governments and multilateral institutions
He was involved in the development of many of renewable energy projects around the world.
He participated in the design and establishment of the EU emissions trading scheme
As Executive Director at Blackstone Global Ventures he co-founded and managed a €40 million carbon pool for compliance companies within the EU emissions trading scheme
Jiří Bartoň, Ph.D.
Technical Director
Jiří is an aircraft engine engineer, with a specialty in cogeneration.
He was the first Director of the Czech Energy Agency (1995-2001) and as such became one of the founding fathers of Czech renewable energy policies. He influenced the most important renewable energy policies and laws.
Between 2001-2007 he was the Executive Director of the Czech Energy Managers Association
He is on the board of three specialized energy publications, and Chairman of Cogen Czech, member of Cogen Europe.
He is also the Executive Director of World’s Green Lungs, and non-profit organization leading the effort to reforest Congo.
Peter J. Kalaš
Senior Advisor
Peter received his electrical engineering degree from the Czech Technical University in Prague.
During 2006-2007 Peter Kalaš was the Czech Minister of Environment.
Before that he spent 12 years at the World Bank, where he directed the National Strategy Studies for climate change in 21 countries on 4 continents.
He is member of the Czech Government Council on National Energy Strategy and Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture. Peter is a well recognized global expert in energy, sustainable development, and climate change policy.
Helmut Schreiber
Senior Advisor
Helmut Schreiber received his Diploma in Political Science and Economics from the Free University in Berlin in 1981.
He subsequently worked at the Free University in Berlin, the Science Center in Berlin, the University of Pittsburgh, the Polish Academy of Sciences in Katowice and the Institute for European Environmental Policy in Bonn and Brussels.
In 1989 he joined the World Bank as a consultant and in 1991 as an Environmental Specialist. He worked as Lead Environmental Economist at the World Bank in Washington (including long-term assignments in Moscow and Budapest) until 2009.
Since 1998, he advised many Governments in Central and Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union on sustainable development and climate change policies.
He has vast experience in structuring and negotiating carbon transactions with both government and private sector clients.
He has been involved in the development and implementation of JI and CDM projects and of Green Investment Schemes and AAU Trading.
Petr Štěpánek
Senior Advisor
Petr studied design and architecture at the Zvolen University of Technology in Slovakia, and the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
During 2007-2010 Petr was the Director of the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic, where, among other things, he established and managed the Green Investment Scheme “Greenlight for savings,” the most successful GIS program in the world, responsible for over 75 million AAU sales.
He has vast experience in managing investment projects in environmental protection.
Prior to that, was Executive Director of EconomiaOnline, and a consultant for EU funds procurement.
Presently he also works as a consultant at the Brno University of Technology, and teaches at the Environmental Design Department at the Liberec University of Technology.
